Phopaw 90 Pandaren Hunter posts. New gear needs new gems, enchants and other enhancements. I suspect a lot of jewelcrafters will continue making 10s of thousands in gold every week using it. I don't foresee it being left behind. Enchanting will get a boost.
Though it works best with a crafting profession feeding it materials and the best for that is Jewelcrafting. Jewelcrafting is the most lucrative profession in the game and is likely to remain so. Enchanting is the second most lucrative profession in the game. Together they are a virtually unbeatable combo for playing the gold game.
Just put Transmute Alchemy on an alt and you can make millions. I have three jewelcrafters, three enchanters and 2 alchemists so I'm a huge fan of these professions. The only time jewelcrafting doesn't make much gold is at the beginning of an expansion when everyone is in leveling gear and there are few gem sockets. From the first patch onwards, it is good throughout an expansion because "everyone" uses gems.
Also, as Phopaw said, it is hands down the best feeder of enchanting mats. Jewelry is generally much less costly as a source of materials than any other profession, including tailoring.
I actually find the best feeder for my enchanting mats is the AH. Weekend evenings, and right after a reset, people sell of Ethereal shards for stupidly low prices- about as low as Mysterious Essences.
Buy them, shatter them, make cheap enchants, sell them for good money. I swapped out mining for enchanting once I started raiding on this toon, sold a couple Haunting spirits for over 10k on gear I normally would have just vendored. I used to make a lot more back when I was more diligent and played the undercutting game.

I don't know that there is any evidence of them as yet though we did see someone post something that was datamined a few weeks ago. They may or may not come out. If they do, it messes up all profession bonuses so is kind of a pain but I'd still socket some.
However, they are not needed. If we don't have them our normal gems will continue to sell just as well as always. JC's don't need epic gems nearly so much as they need socketable gear. P we want epics we want epics.
No, we do not want epics. Epics devalue our profession perk and give Blacksmithing the best bonus in the game by far. I assure you that any jewelcrafter with sense wants to keep our bonus and make oodles of gold.
I have a JC and a Enchanter and my JC is making 10x more this patch than my enchanter. Due to timeless isle epics are a dime a dozen so sha crystals have dropped to half pre-patch price and this has had a ripple effect on enchanting imo, prices are the same or lower than pre-patch for some enchants. I've made k since tuesday, almost all from JC. So yea its worth it. I'm sure next week and forward it will be even more profitable with the new arena season and LFR opening up. Have something to say?
